1. Who We Are

AltGuard is a Shopify app by Adeen ur Rehman. We generate AI-powered alt text for product images. Contact: adeenurrehman861@gmail.com

2. Data We Collect

• Shopify store domain and access token
• Product image URLs (sent to OpenAI for alt text generation)
• Usage data (images scanned and applied per billing cycle)
• Billing plan status

3. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate your store and maintain your session
• To generate alt text via OpenAI Vision (GPT-4o)
• To write alt text back to your Shopify products
• To track monthly usage and process billing via Shopify Billing API

4. Third-Party Services

OpenAI: Image URLs are sent to OpenAI to generate descriptions. OpenAI does not use API data to train models.

Supabase: Session and usage data stored in ap-south-1 (Mumbai).

Vercel: App hosting. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

5. Data Retention

Data is retained while AltGuard is installed. On uninstall, data is deleted within 48 hours.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your data. Third-party services (OpenAI, Supabase, Vercel) are used only to operate the app.

7. Your Rights

Email adeenurrehman861@gmail.com to request data deletion or access. EU merchants have additional GDPR rights.
